In four Movements
-
Beginnings
My first piano lessons came from my mother, in her own piano studio. At thirteen I began studying with Ong Lip Tat, and for five years he shaped how I listen, practise and perform.
-
America
I earned my Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance at Ohio Wesleyan University, and my Master of Music in Piano Performance at the University of Washington in Seattle. I studied with Prof. Béla Siki and Dr Cameron Bennett, and was guest soloist in the Grieg Piano Concerto in A minor at the Central Ohio Symphony's President's Concert in Gray Chapel. I played chamber music too — Brahms's Piano Trio No. 2 at the Mid-American Chamber Institute — and accompanied vocal, string and woodwind recitals.

The Singapore stage
At Victoria Concert Hall I performed two-piano works by Infante and Lutosławski with Ong Lip Tat, and played in a Rotary Club charity concert. I still love ensemble playing, from accompanying flute finals at ACS International to an eight-hands, two-piano performance with three friends.

Today
After more than 23 years of teaching, I divide my time between performing, accompanying, and coaching musicians who are ready to go further.
